Amazing Race 17: They Don’t Call it the Amazing Race for Nothin! CBS 8:30  PM

The 17^th season of this reality show starts up again in Gloucester, Mass.  Teams must then fly to London, England and navigate a series of tasks.  This is apparently the episode where the watermelon catapult is used, and if that viral video can’t get you to tune in, I don’t know what will.

Dexter: My Bad Showtime 9 PM ET

Dexter must deal with notifying family and making arrangements after the death of Rita, as well as deal with his own guilt.

Boardwalk Empire: The Ivory Tower HBO 9 PM ET

Nucky must cover his tracks after Agent Nelson Van Alden comes around looking into the recent crime spree.  In Chicago, Al Capone talks to the press about recent accusations.

Dan accidentally funds a prison break.

Blue Bloods: CBS 10 PM ET

Blue Bloods is a cop-drama that follows a family that is all involved in NYC law enforcement.  Each one is at a different stage in their career and each has a different opinion about what the right thing to do is.  Will the family legacy remain intact with so many strong personalities?

New Shows- Thursday, Sept 23

My Generation: ABC 8 PM ET

A mockumentary which starts out 10 years ago as a group of high school students from Austin, Texas prepare to embark as the Class of 2000.  Fast-forward 10 years to the present, we see just how they fared in the real world.

Sh*t My Dad Says: CBS 8:30 PM ET

A new comedy based on the tweets from Justin Halpern (@shitmydadsays).  It stars two sons who must endure the advice and rantings of their father, played by William Shatner.

Outsourced: NBC 9:30 PM ET

Outsourced is a comedy about a call center in India.  The call center is a recent outsourcing of an American novelties company, whose products include things like  foam fingers and bacon-related goods.  Todd Dempsy is the American manager who moves to India to manage the center and he quickly realizes that the employees are totally unaware of American culture.  This leads to both parties trying to teach each other about their respective cultures.

Princess Beyonce- Raising Hope S1E1

Raising Hope centers around a white trash family whose life is changed after a one-night stand leads to a new addition.  The show’s main character is Jimmy Chance, a 23 year-old guy with not much going for him.  He’s a pool cleaner in the family business and looks at himself as a nobody.

I’m Gonna Go Get My Thing!- Running Wilde S1E1

This new comedy from the same people who brought us the classic “Arrested Development” had a lot of high expectations. Unfortunately, from the first episode it does not seem like this show is going to get anywhere close to the comedic genius of Mitchell Hurwitz’s past. 

New Shows- Wednesday, Sept 22

Undercovers: NBC 8 PM ET

Steve and Samantha Bloom seem like the perfect couple and business partners of a catering company in LA.  What most do not know, is that they were two of the top CIA agents, until they decided to retire 5 years ago.  When Leo Nash, a spy and friend of the couple, goes missing, the agency calls up and asks them to rejoin.  Will the spy life rejuvinate their marriage or tear it apart?

Better With You: ABC 8:30 PM ET

This comedy series focuses on three separate couples: Maddie and Ben, Vicky and Joel, and Mia and Casey.  When Mia and Casey decide to suddenly get married it brings two completely different philosophies of life to a head.  Will all three couples be able to live with each other’s choices?

The Whole Truth: ABC 10 PM ET

This series pits a team of District Attorneys against the best Defense firm in Manhattan.  The jury and audience will hear both sides of each case and come to their own conclusions.  It is not until the final scene that the truth is unveiled.  Will you be able to discern the truth?

The Defenders: CBS 10 PM ET

The Defenders is a law drama focusing on two defense attorneys, Nick and Pete, and their law firm in Las Vegas.  Both men come from different backgrounds, one a ladies man living the high life, the other trying to repair his marriage.  However, Nick and Pete come together each week to defend their clients with passion and conviction.
